Nothing Says Holidays Like These Christmas Dinner Menu Ideas

‘Tis the season to be jolly; Christmas is rapidly approaching once again! The tantalising scents of gingerbread, tangerines, and cinnamon. This is the most wonderful time of the year for many people, with Christmas music playing on the radio and a new Advent calendar door being opened each day. The anticipation of celebrating Christmas with family and friends grows stronger every day. Preparing for Christmas, however, can be stressful and time-consuming, despite the fact that the build-up to Christmas itself is wonderful, with all of its shine and sparkle, customs and traditions.

Noche Buena (Spanish for "Good Night" or "Holy Night") is a Christmas Eve tradition in which families gather for a lavish meal featuring a wide selection of mouthwatering dishes. One of the most memorable parts of the holiday season for many of us is the Christmas dinner (along with presents, obvs). When we Filipinos get together, there better be a lot of food for everyone to eat.

The fact that we can't eat all of the food in the house in one sitting is part of what makes us Filipino, even though it's impossible. Over the years, we've measured a wide variety of Filipino Christmas dinners, and we thought we'd compile a list of our favorites here in case you're in need of some inspiration.

Main Course For Christmas Eve Dinner - Christmas Just Got Cheerier

Along with the joy of exchanging presents and witnessing the first snowfall of the season, the holiday feast is one of our favorite parts of the holiday season. One of the best times to overindulge is in the days leading up to Christmas!

As with any special occasion meal, a holiday feast should be prepared with the intention of savoring every bite. For the people who mean the most to you, there is nothing like coming home to the aroma of a gorgeous braise or a big, comforting centrepiece fresh from the oven.

It's fine if these meals need a little more time and effort to prepare. It's just another thrilling step along the way. These easy Christmas main dishes will surely be the talk of all your holiday get-togethers!

Grilled Ribs

A juicy rack of ribs that have been cooked to perfection is one of the few things in the world that can't compare. In the name of delicious barbecue flavors, millions of Christmas revelers get their hands and faces covered in sticky glaze every year. Take advantage of the chilly weather by firing up the grill for some flavorful, seasoned ribs. They require minimal effort to prepare and are delicious!

Chicken Teriyaki

Teriyaki is a style of Japanese cooking in which the food is grilled or broiled after being brushed with a glaze made of sake, marin, soy sauce, and sugar. Teri means shiny or glazed, and yaki means grilling. At Christmas, we think everyone would enjoy some tender chicken covered in a sweet and sticky glaze. Something about that savory and sweet sauce on chicken just does it for you.

Baked Chilean Sea Bass

Serve seafood at Christmas dinner to impress your guests. The flaky, buttery white flesh of the Chilean sea bass is well worth the effort it takes to perfect the seasoning and cooking method for it. The beauty of this seafood is that it can be served in a variety of ways, so let your imagination run wild! If you prefer, you can simply serve the fish without any sauce at all. You could also use a Parmesan cream sauce or serve the fish with a simple lemon and butter sauce.

Hawaiian Hot Dogs

One of the most universally recognised reasons to break out the barbecue is to cook a few hot dogs. Adding condiments to your hot dog is half the fun of eating one. Now, if you're anything like us, you've probably eaten a lot of them and are always looking for new ways to spice things up. Hawaiian Hot Dogs offer a taste of the tropics with their grilled hot dog bases topped with grilled fresh pineapple and onions. The sweetness of the pineapple salsa and the heat of the sriracha sauce complement each other beautifully.

Pizza Calzone

It's almost the holiday season. That calls for a special take on traditional holiday foods like pizza and calzones. The difference between a calzone and a regular pizza is that the dough is wrapped entirely around the filling, rather than simply being used to hold the pepperoni and other toppings in place. Think of a huge, delicious turnover. With pizza dough from the store, either fresh or canned, you can whip up a calzone in a pinch. It's safe to say that calzones made with your favorite pizza toppings will blow your mind. Pepperoni, cheese, spinach, sausage, and even pineapple would all be great toppings.

Easy Christmas Appetizers As Finger Foods

One of our favorite traditions at Christmas is the appetisers. A festive appetiser is the perfect way to get the party started and set the tone for a memorable Christmas meal. Some are opulent and decadent, while others are hearty and traditional. All of them, however, are delicious and a lot of fun to eat. Cranberries and brie are a classic pairing, but we also have suggestions for a holiday charcuterie board, festive bite-sized treats that can be served individually, and a smooth and creamy dip that will become an instant favorite. Easy no-bake Christmas appetisers are included here alongside more elaborate, creative takes on holiday standards. You can choose from some substantial appetisers or some smaller bites; either way, your guests are sure to enjoy themselves!

Toasted Ravioli

Toasted ravioli, with its warm, crispy texture, is the perfect holiday comfort food. Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, these golden-brown treats are even better when dunked in a bowl of warm marinara sauce. The perfect, highly-addictive starter for any meal is right at your fingertips. Making ordinary ravioli into something spectacular only takes a short amount of time.

Classic Bruschetta

A taste of bruschetta, especially when it's freshly made, can take you back to the Mediterranean climate of southern Italy. This is the best appetiser you can bring to a Christmas party, and it's also a great way to use up those last few ripe summer tomatoes. Toasted bread with cheese and a generous application of balsamic glaze is an irresistible combination. You won't believe how simple it is to make the same appetiser you had at your favorite restaurant at home.

Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp

You've come to the right place if you're in search of a delectable Christmas appetiser that your guests won't be able to stop eating. Shrimp wrapped in bacon is a simple dish that can be served as an appetiser or main course. Cooked in the oven after being tossed in a maple butter seasoned with red pepper flakes, the result is tender shrimp with salty bacon and a deliciously sweet and spicy glaze.

Parmesan Cauliflower Bites

Serve these parmesan cauliflower bites as appetisers at your Christmas dinner to prove to your guests that cauliflower can be prepared in any tasty way. Cauliflower appetisers that even picky eaters will love because of their crispiness and crunch. These bite-sized morsels of cauliflower are breaded, baked until crisp, and served with marinara sauce. You can satisfy your craving for crunch and a small bite but without all the guilt of snacking.

Spicy Barbecued Oysters

At Christmas dinners, we'll use any pretext to show off for our guests. When dining out at a seafood restaurant, oysters are a special treat, but when prepared at home, they add a level of sophistication and finesse to your cooking that is hard to match. But if you really want to impress your guests, serve them grilled oysters as an appetiser before the main course. Though the oyster flavor is still present, the sauces and toppings add another layer that may make oysters more approachable to a first-time diner.

A December To Remember - Appetizing Christmas Desserts

The holiday season is fast approaching, and with it comes a bounty of sweet treats that are only available during this time of year. If there's ever a time to go all out with a sweet treat, it's Christmas. Desserts are the perfect ending to a satisfying meal. They come in a wide range of textures and flavors, from crisp and refreshing to luscious and decadent. It's the season of giving, so why not bring something different to the holiday dessert table this year to please everyone's palates and spread holiday cheer? We're willing to bet that one of these Christmas desserts will be just right for you!

Cake Jars

The most recent well-liked cake development is the cake jar. Who knew you could eat cake out of a jar? In terms of holiday desserts, cake jars are a brilliant and tasty idea. All parties need to start with these sophisticated jars to truly impress the guests. They work wonderfully in parties where there is a surplus of food. Serving quantities are never an issue when you use cake jars; just fill one for each guest!

Vegan Cakes

When we think of vegan food, we immediately think of tasteless, bland food. Vegan food, on the other hand, is not only healthy but also tasty and entertaining, especially at a holiday feast. To satisfy a sweet tooth without using animal products, vegan cakes are a wonderful option! Dropping butter and other dairy products from a recipe is an easy way to cut back on calories. You can reduce the amount of fat and calories in baked goods but still have the same flavorful experience. How cool is that?

Key Lime Pie Mousse

The key lime pie mousse has the perfect balance of tart, sweet, and cold for a holiday party. It's a tasty, light dessert that uses sweetened condensed milk, cream cheese, heavy cream, and Key lime juice. The best outcome has a nice balance of density and airiness, and it slices beautifully despite its curvy appearance.

Profiteroles

There's a good reason why these traditional profiteroles are always a hit: they feature a rich, creamy custard filling encased in a light, airy, crispy, perfectly baked choux pastry shell. It's old-fashioned in the best way, and it has a delightfully addictive quality. Everyone's always had a soft spot for cream puffs. The ones that were filled with the traditional custard were the most popular. However, the traditional profiterole deserves centre stage at your upcoming Christmas dinner.

Fried Ice Cream

Let's not dwell on how messy it would be to attempt frying ice cream. Relax; that wasn't the topic of our conversation. To "fry" your ice cream, you would first need to prepare some buttered, toasted cornflakes to cover it completely. This way, we can enjoy a fried meal without the mess and effort. A simple and delicious dessert, fried ice cream is made by frying a scoop of ice cream in a crust that's both crunchy and flavored. It's a delicious twist on traditional desserts.
